Our Gsieser Tal in the Kronplatz holiday region is one of the most beautiful winter sports destinations in South Tyrol. Whatever you fancy – as soon as the white splendour covers our mountain landscape, almost anything is possible. And if you would like to take a break one day and devise new plans for your winter holiday in South Tyrol, then you can do so at a rustic mountain hut with a strong Jagertee, while visiting one of the romantic Christmas markets in the Pustertal or the Eisacktal, and – naturally – while relaxing at our in-house wellness oasis.
Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ski touring
Do you like it more tranquil? Then relax and glide over the approximately 40 km of perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails in the Gsieser Tal. Let the dreamy winter landscape roll past and enjoy the unique stillness. For a winter hike, we recommend the course of the valley floor – or switch to snowshoes and venture into higher regions. The Kronplatz holiday region, along with the Pustertal, naturally lends itself to wonderful ski tours on your ski holiday. For backcountry ski tours from Villgraten to the Gsieser Tal or the Antholzertal and Defereggental, you can rely on the leadership of an experienced mountain guide from the Alpinschule Pustertal mountaineering school.
Right next door: the Kronplatz ski area
At 2,275 m, Kronplatz, which is not far from St. Martin, is South Tyrol’s no. 1 ski mountain. Its multiple treeless, gentle slopes are ideally suited to runs of all degrees of difficulty. 119 kilometres of excellently maintained slopes with guaranteed snow are available to you there – for truly every demand. The lift systems are extremely modern. A ski school, entertainment, and childcare are also provided for children. Snowboarding and tobogganing are also possible at the Kronplatz ski area. In addition, a visit to the Messner Mountain Museum at its summit is worth it. To make your ski holiday at Kronplatz totally comfortable, the free ski bus departs nearby the Kahn Residence. There is also an in-house drying room here for your ski gear.
